Who's afraid of Mobilegeddon?

More and more people are using mobile phones and tablets such as Apple's iPad to surf the internet, rather than use their desktop PC or laptop. Understandably, they feel frustrated when they visit a website that doesn't display well on their device. Recognising this, in April 2015 Google released significant new mobile-friendly ranking algorithm that’s designed to give a boost to mobile-friendly pages in Google’s mobile search results. The media called this Mobilegeddon.

Has my website been affected by Mobilegeddon?

A study in July 2015 found that non-mobile-friendly sites fell in Google search rankings, while mobile-friendly sites gained.

What can I do about it?

In the last few years, all of EAB's new projects have used a responsive design approach to ensure that our clients' websites look good on desktops, tablets and mobile phones alike. In other words, these clients' have not suffered since Mobilegeddon and their websites pass Google's mobile-friendly test.

If you still haven't upgraded your website to a responsive design, it's probably suffered a decrease in page ranking already, but it's not too late to reverse the decline. Act now and contact us to find out more!
