The Executive Forum Alumni is a group of over 300 senior managers, executives and high calibre professionals in Hertfordshire. Each member has participated in a unique training programme managed by Oaklands College and delivered by Certainty One.

Project

Awareness of a number of features of the EFA website was found to be low among the group. EAB proposed a face-to-face presentation of the website features to encourage feedback. Any subsequent improvements implemented would give members more of a stake in the success of the site.

Working closely with the Chair of the group, the EAB team met members at a face-to-face networking event and provided an interactive presentation of the log in system and benefits of the site.

The EAB team moderated an open discussion to elicit ideas for improvement while listening to member's views about privacy and online sharing. The process was backed up with an online tutorial screencast published on YouTube and the LinkedIn Group.

Members were encouraged to use the 'Opportunities' section to announce different job openings and EAB worked with the web manager to test members' suggestions.

Result: entrepreneurial members are now able to use the online forum to launch innovative business ideas, seeking potential partners in complete confidence.

Working with the EFA webmaster, the following improvements were made:

  • Screencasts to aid familiarisation
  • Facility to post new Business Opportunities
  • A new EFA announcements board
  • Online Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section
  • List of Testimonials
  • Events listing now open to the public

Commenting on the improvements, Saverio Bongo, Executive Forum chairperson, said: “We’re grateful to EAB who took the initiative, listened and implemented the members' suggestions to achieve a better user experience. It will encourage people to use the site and increase awareness.”
